A commemorative coin of Rs 100 was released at the Jallianwala Bagh memorial on the 100 years of the massacre by the vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu today. He also offered tribute to the fallen on Saturday. To commemorate the event a coin and postal stamp was released. To the martyrs at the National Memorial, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh paid their homage. Even though the British High Commissioner Dominic Asquith expressed his deep regret on the incident, no apology came from the British Government on the brutal killings. Amarinder Singh rejected the regret expressed recently by British Prime Minister Theresa May as inadequate and demanded “an unequivocal official apology from Britain”.
