RBI: Accept all Coins as Legal Tender

The Government of India mints coins put into circulation by the Reserve Bank of India(RBI). As coins remain in circulation much longer, coins of the same value but with different shapes and designs circulate at the same time. Such a scenario is present with the following denominations:  50 p, ₹1, ₹2, ₹5, and ₹10.

RBI has come out with this press release to dispell fears regarding the authenticity of the coins. It has asked the public to accept all coins legal tender as in their transactions.
