People’s Bank of China – Commemorative: 70th Anniversary of the renminbi issuance

The People’s Bank of China decided to issue a set of commemorative coins and commemorative banknotes for the 70th anniversary of the issuance of RMB on November 23, 2018. Among them, there are 1 gold commemorative coin, 2 silver commemorative coins and 1 commemorative banknote, all of which are the legal currency of the People’s Republic of China.

1. Gold commemorative coins and silver commemorative coins

(1) Commemorative coin pattern (see Annex 1).

1. Frontal pattern.

The frontal figures of the gold commemorative coins and the silver commemorative coins are the national emblem of the People’s Republic of China, and the country name and year number are published.

2. The back pattern.

The back pattern of the 5 gram round gold commemorative coin is the design of the former building of Shijiazhuang of the People’s Bank of China, the name of the “People’s Bank of China” and the renminbi decorative pattern design, and the Chinese character and denomination of the “70th anniversary of RMB issuance”.

The back pattern of 1 kilogram round silver commemorative coin is the third set of RMB 10 yuan coupon front pattern and 1 yuan coin back pattern, supplemented by the relevant element combination design symbolizing the development of RMB, and the Chinese character of “70th Anniversary of RMB Issuance” Denomination.

The back pattern of the 15 gram round silver commemorative coin is the symbol design of the symbol of the renminbi symbol and the earth’s latitude and longitude lines, electronic chip, binary code, etc., which symbolizes internationalization and digitization, and publishes the Chinese character and denomination of the “70th anniversary of RMB issuance”.

(2) Commemorative coin specifications and circulation.

The 5 gram round gold commemorative coin is a refined coin containing 5 grams of pure gold, 20 millimeters in diameter, 80 yuan in denomination, 99.9% in color, and a maximum circulation of 30,000 pieces.

The 1 kg round silver commemorative coin is a refined coin containing 1 kg of sterling silver, 100 mm in diameter, 300 yuan in denomination, 99.9% in color, and the largest circulation of 3,000 pieces.

The 15 gram round silver commemorative coin is a refined coin containing 15 grams of sterling silver, 33 mm in diameter, 5 yuan in denomination, 99.9% in color, and a maximum circulation of 60,000 pieces.

(3) The set of gold and silver commemorative coins was cast by Shenzhen Guobao Mint Co., Ltd., and the total distribution of China Gold Coin Corporation. The sales channels are detailed in China Gold Co., Ltd.

Second, the commemorative

(1) Commemorative banknote pattern (see Annex 1).

1. Frontal pattern.

The main front view of the commemorative banknotes is the tree ring and the first to fifth sets of representative parts of the RMB. At the top left is the national emblem pattern, the name of the “People’s Bank of China”, and the words “The 70th Anniversary of RMB Issuance” and “1948-2018”. The lower left side of the ticket face is the denomination number “50”, and the upper right is the denomination number “50” and the Chinese character “Wu Yuan Yuan”.

2. The back pattern.

The main picture on the back of the commemorative banknote is the People’s Bank of China Building, supplemented by Peony, the former site of the People’s Bank of China, the first set of RMB distribution notices and the silhouette of the city building. In the upper left corner of the ticket is the denomination number “50”, the Chinese Pinyin alphabet of the People’s Bank of China and the words and denominations of the “People’s Bank of China” in the four national languages ​​of Mongolia, Tibet, Victoria and Zhuang. Below the ticket is the president’s chapter and the year number “2018”. The lower right corner of the ticket face is the denomination number “50” and the Chinese pinyin letter “YUAN”.

(2) Commemorating the denomination, specifications, materials and quantity of the banknotes.

The commemorative banknotes are denominations of 50 yuan, with a face length of 150 mm and a width of 70 mm. The material is banknotes and the number of copies is 120 million. The number of commemorative banknotes distributed in provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government is shown in Annex 2.

(3) Ways of issuance.

The commemorative banknotes are issued in two batches by way of appointment. The first batch was issued nationwide on December 28, 2018, and the second batch was issued in Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hubei, Guangdong and other regions on January 11, 2019. The specific issuance work arrangements are shown in Annex 3.

(4) The public security features of commemorative banknotes are shown in Annex 4.

(5) The commemorative banknotes have the same functions as the current renminbi, and are circulated in equal value with the same denomination of RMB.
