Myanmar to Introduce new Currency

The Central Bank of Myanmar has indicated the issuing of the new 1,000-kyat currency notes on January 4, 2020. It has the image of the late national hero General Aung San. 

The new proposal was approved by the parliament in 2017. The image of the general is at the center of the 150×70 mm sized currency. The obverse side holds the image of the parliament building. The notes circulating in Myanmar are 50, 100, 200, 500, 1,000, 5,000, and 10,000-kyat.
