Euro souvenir banknotes launched to celebrate Gandhi’s 150th birth year

The worldwide release of the 12 bank notes of zero value, by a UAE based company, which is the first ever, a limited edition designed to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary year, will be released in phases till October 2. The designer is a Dubai-based Indian artist Akbar Saheb. In a 12 part series, the first two notes, with each design consisting of 5000 pieces will go on a global sale at selected outlets.

Under the authorisation of the European Central Bank, the same level of security printers are used in printing zero euro notes like other normal euro currency notes. In order to prevent these notes in entering a normal market circulation, they have been marked ‘0’.
