Eastern Caribbean to Issue Five-dollar Polymer Note into Circulation

The Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) has the decision to release the polymer five-dollar banknotes by September 2020. The use of polymer notes began in June 2019 with the introduction of EC$50 banknotes. 

The ECCB had decided to change the material from paper to polymer as polymer notes are said to be cleaner, safer, and last longer.
