China to stop the circulation of 1 yuan notes

In the provinces of Fujian, Jiangxi and Shandong, the Central Bank of China will stop issuing the 1 yuan notes and switch to the use of one yuan coins only. As the coins have a longer lifespan and are better for the environment they have decided to discontinue the circulation of these notes. Even though the notes will be no longer circulated by the bank, they will still be accepted as currency. However, the netizens are not very happy about the gradual disappearance of the yuan notes.
