China’s Central Bank has issued two heart-shaped commemorative coins, one is gold and one is silver. The obverse of the two coins have the Chinese characters Jixiang (meaning auspiciousness) while the reverse side has the traditional patterns such as dragon, Pheonix, lotus, Jade and pearls. The silver coin has a face value of 50 yuan and the gold coin has a face value of 10 yuan. The new set of commemorative coins also include five round coins. The silver coin is decorated with the patterns of pomegranates and chubby kids which symbolizes a big and prosperous family. Another pair has a pattern of cat, butterfly, stones and auspicious flowers indicating longevity. The other pair symbolizing life has the images of magpies, plum and flowers.
