On Thursday, March 28, 2019, the Central Bank of Bahamas will issue the fifth member of the family, CE $3, which is the first redesign of this banknote since 1984.
With Burgandy as the dominant color with shades of brown, red, lavender, yellow, the banknote is 155mm long and 66 mm wide with the signature of the governor of the central bank of Bahamas together with the words central bank of the Bahamas. Under Bahamas act 2000, these notes are legal tender.
On the main face of the note, the watermark of Queen Elizabeth 2 and numeral $3, the denominational value in words and figures appear on the left, a replica map of the island of Bahamas and an image of passion flower in the centre. The obverse side represents the images of sailboats at the sea under which is the coat of arms of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. The numeral $3 appears in the upper left and lower right corners, along with the words “three dollars” written on the upper right quadrant.
